Job Description:

The SAP FICO Lead is responsible for driving the end‑to‑end Finance and Controlling workstream for the SAP ECC global template rollout to the Malaysia entity. The role focuses on delivering localized finance solutions that meet Malaysia‑specific statutory, tax, and compliance requirements while ensuring alignment with the global template. This position partners closely with local business stakeholders and global teams to design, validate, and deliver functional solutions across Finance and Controlling. The consultant also oversees integration, data migration, testing, and cutover activities within the rollout program.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance and Controlling workstream for the Malaysia rollout and ensure alignment with the global SAP ECC template
  • Conduct fit–gap analysis covering Malaysia statutory requirements, business processes, and financial reporting needs
  • Design and validate localized solutions across GL, AR, AP, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, COPA, and Taxation
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysia SST (Sales and Service Tax), statutory reporting formats, audit requirements, and legal obligations
  • Define and update localized Business Blueprint documentation and related process materials
  • Configure and validate Malaysia‑specific tax codes, reporting structures, payment formats, and withholding tax processes
  • Set up and test local bank integrations, payment files, collection processes, and reconciliation methods
  • Coordinate integration activities across SD, MM, Procurement, Logistics, EWM/WM, HR, and other connected modules
  • Lead FICO‑related data migration activities including master data, open items, balances, and cost objects
  • Drive cutover planning, mock conversions, validation efforts, and sign‑off for FICO workstreams
  • Prepare and execute FICO test scenarios across SIT, UAT, Regression, and Localization cycles
  • Deliver user training, create user guides, and support change management efforts
  • Collaborate with Malaysia business finance teams, global process owners, migration teams, and program leadership
  • Participate in project governance routines including stand‑ups, status reviews, and steering committees

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential

  • Extensive hands‑on experience with SAP FI and CO configuration
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia SST, local statutory reporting formats, audit requirements, and banking/payment processes
  • Experience working with global templates and conducting fit–gap analysis
  • Solid integration experience with SD, MM, WM/EWM, HR, Banking, and interface components
  • Strong consulting and client‑facing skills with the ability to run workshops and lead blueprinting and UAT cycles
  • Experience preparing project deliverables including blueprints, functional specifications, test scripts, and SOP documentation
  • Strong understanding of data migration processes including mapping, cleansing, and validation
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities
  • Extensive experience supporting statutory, compliance, and audit‑driven financial processes
  • Ability to lead testing cycles and ensure compliance‑critical scenarios are delivered successfully

Nice to Have

  • Experience with migration tools such as LSMW, ADM, or BODS
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance
  • Exposure to APAC or Malaysia‑specific SAP rollout programs

Education & Experience

  • 8–10+ years of SAP FICO experience including multiple global rollouts, with at least one in APAC or Malaysia
