Job DescriptionThe SAP MM Consultant plays a critical role in configuring and supporting the SAP Materials Management (MM) module to meet diverse business requirements. This position demands a strong understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and scheduling agreements. The consultant will be responsible for vendor master and material master data creation and maintenance, ensuring data accuracy and compliance. Expertise in pricing procedure configuration and condition records is essential to optimize procurement processes. The role also involves managing inventory activities such as goods receipt, goods issue, transfer postings, and physical inventory management. Integration with SAP FI for invoice verification and financial postings is a key aspect of the job. The consultant will design and implement release strategies for PR and PO approvals to streamline procurement workflows. Day-to-day production support and troubleshooting at L2/L3 levels are required to maintain system stability. Coordination with the ABAP development team is necessary for custom reports, forms, enhancements, and user exits. The consultant will conduct thorough testing phases including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), preparing detailed test cases. End user training and comprehensive documentation preparation are vital to ensure smooth adoption and knowledge transfer. A good grasp of organizational structures such as company code, plant, storage location, purchasing organization, and purchasing group is required. Knowledge of material types, valuation classes, account determination, and automatic account determination (OBYC) is important for accurate financial integration. Familiarity with subcontracting, consignment, and stock transfer processes enhances the ability to support complex procurement scenarios. Basic understanding of integration points with SAP FI and SD modules is advantageous. Experience in enterprise software implementation and consulting will help in delivering effective solutions aligned with business goals. The role is based in Pune and requires 3 to 8 years of relevant SAP MM experience, combining technical expertise with strong business acumen to drive procurement excellence.Responsibilities: Demonstrate strong knowledge of SAP MM module, Procure-to-Pay cycle, pricing procedures, and inventory management to configure and support business processes effectively. Manage the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process including creation and management of Purchase Requisitions, Requests for Quotation, Purchase Orders, Contracts, and Scheduling Agreements. Handle inventory management tasks such as Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, transfer postings, stock types, and physical inventory processes. Support invoice verification and ensure seamless integration with SAP FI for accurate financial postings. Develop and implement release strategies for PR and PO approvals to streamline procurement workflows and compliance. Provide L2/L3 production support by resolving day-to-day issues, coordinating with ABAP teams for reports, forms, enhancements, and user exits, and conducting testing and end user training.The SAP MM Consultant position requires 3 to 8 years of experience with strong expertise in SAP MM and a good understanding of enterprise software implementation and consulting.
