Role Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on SAP PP Solution Architect with strong production planning domain expertise and S/4HANA implementation/rollout experience. The role owns end-to-end PP/PP-DS solutioning, integration with enterprise planning suites (IBP, o9, Kinaxis), and alignment with manufacturing operations, supply planning, procurement, quality, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture (S/4HANA PP/PP-DS)
- Design to-be processes for MTS/MTO/ATO/ETO, discrete & process manufacturing.
- Lead fit-gap, blueprinting, FS/TS sign-offs, build, SIT/UAT, cutover, go-live, and hypercare across multiple plants/companies.
- Drive Clean Core adoption (Fiori apps, no/low custom where feasible); specify BTP/CPI extensions only when justified.
- Configure BOMs, Routings/Master Recipes, Work Centers/Resources, Production Versions, MRP Live, Planning Strategies, Lot sizing, Scheduling, Capacity planning, backflushing/confirmation, batch management & serialisation.
- Define aATP/ATP, pegging, subcontracting, rework, reprocessing, Kanban, and repetitive manufacturing where applicable.
- Own integration with QM, MM, SD, EWM, MES/LIMS/WMS, and finance impact (WIP/variance).
- MDG/MDM alignment for materials, resources, PVs; data readiness, migration strategy, and cutover mock runs.
- Establish KPIs for plan adherence, capacity utilisation, OTIF, and exception management.
- Author solution documents, test scripts, and work instructions; ensure traceability.
- GxP/CSV awareness for regulated industries (if applicable).
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years hands-on in SAP PP / PP-DS with at least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations or multi-plant rollouts.
- Proven design of MRP Live, planning strategies (10/20/40/50, 81/82), production versions, capacity evaluation, detailed scheduling.
- Demonstrated integration with at least one enterprise planning suite (IBP, o9, or Kinaxis)—including end-to-end data flows and plan consumption in S/4.
- Strong cross-module knowledge: MM (procurement/ subcontracting), QM (in-process & final), SD (ATP/aATP), EWM/WM, and CO-PC basics for cost impacts.
- Technical fluency to lead builds with developers/integration teams (IDoc/OData/REST, SAP CPI, BTP, ALE, background jobs, error handling).
- Excellent stakeholder management; Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), backlog grooming, and release planning.
Nice to Have
- PP-DS heuristics/optimiser experience, pegging strategies, and capacity-constrained planning.
- MES integration (ISA-95), shop-floor controls, and IoT signals for confirmations/consumptions.
- Experience transitioning from APO to S/4/IBP.
- Industry depth: Pharma/CPG/Auto/Hi-Tech/F&B.
- SAP certifications (S/4 Manufacturing, IBP) and exposure to BTP CAP/Fiori for light extensions.
Education
- Bachelor’s in Engineering/Supply Chain/IT (or equivalent). APICS/CPIM is a plus.
